About
THERE'S AVERAGE, THEN THERE'S ELITE

Hi! my name is Carleigh I’m a 21-year-old New Jersey-based custom apparel business owner. I spent 14 years training at an elite level of gymnastics and competing all the way up to the NCAA – I am no stranger to hard work and what it means to be dedicated. So- If you’re looking for someone with passion, enthusiasm, and an eye for detail to help you achieve your custom apparel dreams- you’ve come to the right place.
As the saying goes “It all starts with a dollar and a dream…” and I definitely had a dream. I like to say It all began when I was 6 years old and my parents put me in gymnastics. I fell in love with the sport and quickly excelled, spending many nights and weekends training to become better and better each day. I eventually reached Elite level training, I spent some time in Texas at the National Training Center facility (Karolyi Ranch) As part of the National TOPs Team. I had dreams of reaching the Olympics, I placed second in the nation behind New Jersey Native, and 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist Laurie Hernandez. However, my life changed forever and I gave up my Olympic dreams after my Brother had a life-altering accident that changed the way I viewed life and family and how important it is. I then decided to chase an NCAA scholarship and go the college route. My dream came true when I received a full athletic scholarship to Western Michigan University in October 2015 my sophomore year of high school. I majored in business and competed on a division 1 NCAA team. Living my life as a college student and competing- something still felt missing in my life. After one year away, I packed up and moved back home and transferred to Rutgers University, I was given the opportunity to compete for Rutgers Gymnastics a BIG10 school, and was accepted into the Business School – where I could be closer to my family. After a few months of training with my new team, I medically retired, due to a long-term injury. Then COVID hit… School shut down and being stuck in quarantine I didn’t know what to do with all my free time and not knowing what I wanted to do with my life after I retired from gymnastics, I found myself struggling to find my identity. Then.. it hit me! my mom had a single heat press and previous experience in the embroidery business. So instead of sitting around waiting for something to come my way, I decided to do what I know best. Don’t give up! and I started a new journey as an entrepreneur.
And Elite Custom Apparel LLC was born on July 10th, 2020. When I was only 20 years old. We started off in my dad’s basement and have quickly expanded into a 2200 sq ft warehouse, we serve the community with custom designs and apparel. making dreams come true for all our customers. Here at ECA, we support our troops and first responders. We treat all our employees like family (probably because most of them are lol) I can finally say that at the young age of 21 I’m proving the American dream is still alive, and I believe if you think big, dream big, believe big, the results will be big.
